The #1 Rule That all Geniuses Follow….

I always wondered what it took to be a “Genius”. You know, the Albert Einsteins, Steve Jobs, Beethovens….how did they achieve the “Genius” status? How did they achieve that level of proficiency so that they could be stamped, GENIUS? That is impressive. Does one decide they are going to be a genius or they are just born a genius? Is being a genius nature or nurture? Does one have the ability to be a genius at 10? 30? 70? What are the criteria for said status? Are they pioneers? Do they have high test scores? Do they have above average IQ scores? No not necessarily but I did come up with one true answer:

Geniuses see the world differently.

Think back to Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. Steve Jobs had an interest in technology. He simply wanted everyone to have a home computer. Computers weren’t new. It was just a different concept to what was there. Jobs saw the computer world in a way no one had. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to be a genius. Meaning you don’t always have to come up with a concept or product that is already working for the world. You don’t even have to be a supernatural being. You don’t need 3 legs. You don’t need 28 hours in a day either. You need what is ALREADY inside you. If there’s anything you need, it is to embrace the idiosyncrasies that you WELL aware of. You know, the ones people told you were “strange” or “not normal”. You just have to think differently. And see…..

The amazing part about it all is YOU ALREADY DO! You are a totally “different” person. You have your own set of ideas, ideals, values, thoughts, and perspectives. You are unique. There is no one else like you on this planet! Not even your closest family members. NO ONE! You have an unique code prescribed to just you! YOU ARE ALREADY SPECIAL! YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY. You can’t change that. You can’t change your uniqueness. There are plenty of things that you see IN YOUR OWN UNIQUE WAY……couple that with what interests you= Genius.

Think back to to the ’70’s. Think about when funk and disco was alive. It was all of the rave. There wasn’t a single party you could go to that wasn’t a disco party. Now think about DJ Grandmaster Flash. He is said to be the fonder of hip hop. He was a DJ (disc jockey) who manipulated a section of a disco record because he liked the beat in it. He wanted to extend the beat in the record so that it would last longer. Simple because he liked it. Now it is known as a hip hop beat. That is it. Nothing fancy smancy. He wanted to hear the record but in a different way. There was nothing complicated. In fact, we are all geniuses in our own right simply because we all have own perspectives. Think back to when you said, “WOW YOU ARE A GENIUS!” You were probably commenting on how someone solved a problem in a different way than what you could think of. Or they came up with a different concept that no one else did. Genius.

It isn’t a bad thing to be you. It’s the best thing that has happened to this world.

We need that. We need you! We need your perspective! The world is a better place because of you. The world was missing you and thats why we have you now. We were waiting for your genius. We can’t move forward without your uniqueness. Why else would you be here?

Even if you haven’t caught your stride yet, just know that it is needed. There’s someone out there that is waiting for you. It could be the whole entire world. It is by your individuality that new inventions are made. Even if inventions aren’t your thing, someone needs you to be here…someone needs you to put your wacky, unique spin on things. Don’t think your “weirdness” is something to be shunned or hidden or even ashamed of. Your quirky ways is what makes the difference in this world. You are the difference in this world. You are different.

And we need your genius.
